Smart Bike Can Help You Plan Your Route, Avoid Trouble
The smart bicycle may be a new wave in connected personal transportation. In the same way that people use audiovisual and GPS equipment for their cars, smart bicycles can have iPad and other connections that can turn bikes into a green way of getting around without all the additional equipment. For example, sensors in the smart bicycle can measure speed, resistance, direction, and location, all of which can be passed to smartphone apps which then help the user get to his or her destination, exercise, or just enjoy a bike ride in a place that might otherwise be unfamiliar. Smart bike technology may also help society by providing information on the best and fastest bicycle routes, the kind of workout you get from going a certain direction, or hazards that may be up ahead including road construction and accidents. In further iterations, smart bicycles could even indicate if they have been in road accidents, or help locate themselves in the event of theft.
